Dr. George B. Greenfield, M.D

Dr. Greenfield was a practicing Radiologist and Professor Emeritus of the University of South Florida, located in Tampa, Florida. In preparation of his career, George attended New York University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts(BA) and Utrecht University, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine(MD). Prior to completion of his education, George enlisted in the United States Army, serving until his honorable discharge in 1951.

With more than sixty years of industry experience to his credit, George is revered for his contributions to the field of medicine. Early in his career, George served as an attending radiologist with the H Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute from 1989 to 2006, a professor of radiology at the University of South Florida from 1989 to 2003, the vice chairman for the department of radiology in the Chicago Medical School from 1988 to 1989,professor of radiology in the Chicago Medical School from 1987 to 1989, and president of the medical staff at Mount Sinai Medical Center from 1983 to 1985.

In addition to his efforts within medicine, George has contributed to numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He currently works with the City of Treasure Island, FL, having been on the Future of Treasure Island Committee since 2016 and on the Beach Preservation since 1998. From 1986 to 1989, he held the position of trustee for the Mount Sinai Medical Center.

He has also enjoyed a successful career as an artist, with his fine art, photography, and digital art exhibited for years in such venues as the Treasure Island Community Center, the Morean arts Center, the Palm Beach Photographic Centre, the Suntan Art Center and the St. Pete Beach Community Center.

In recognition of his excellence George has received countless honors. An elected Fellow of the American College of Radiology, he was featured in the first edition of How to find the Best Doctors: Florida" by Castle-Connolly in 2000, as well as the 2018 edition of Marquis Magazine Recognized as a Distinguished World Wide Humanitarian in 2018, he was honored with special designations 20 times by the Art Guild of Treasure Island between 2003 and 2018, 10 times by the Suntan Art Center between 2007 and 2017, and six times by the American Physicians Art Association from 1994 to 2008.
