
He was born in Chicago, May 3, 1930. Residents of Olympia Gardens for 34 years, Hugh retired from Calumet Steel after 32 years of service as metallurgist.
He was proud scoutmaster of Troop 102, Chicago Heights, Illinois. He was proud volunteer fireman at Olympia and Dixie Gardens, Illinois for many years.
Loving father to Hugh G. (Sheila) Mc Nulty, and Annette M. Mc Nulty (deceased). Dear brother to Theresa Edstrom, Connie Pockevich and Janet and Harold Hurwitz. Proud grandfather of Aimee, Lacey, Sofie, Chloe and Robert. Also survived by many, many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Hugh was a marvelous gardener and fantastic cook. Hugh enjoyed fishing. His favorite place was Camp Nawakwa in Wisconsin where the family vacationed for 41 years.
Hugh taught himself Spanish listening to “vinyl” in the back room of the Olympia Gardens home. His co-workers at the mill tutored him to enhance his skills so when traveling in Spain, Mexico or going to dinner we felt we were traveling with a true Castilian.
