I am looking for a James Steen that was in the Phillippines in 1964-1965 while in the Air Force . Wondering if this might be him . I am sorry for your lose.If this was the James Steen I was looking please let me know so I will know to continue my search.

Loved Jim and Marian. I remember dearly a bible study we did at the parsonage many years ago. Sending prayers to the family. 

Jim, along with his wife Marian were for many years devoted and faithful members of the Parsippany United Methodist Church.  The pulpit in the new sanctuary built in 2002 was given by Jim and Marian and is inscribed with the simplest and most sublime of messages, "God is love."  

Jim's childhood was not a happy one but he found great happiness as an adult in his marriage to Marian with whom he shared a passion for the field of education.  Marian was a school teacher while Jim spent the majority of his work life as a school principal.   Jim and Marian raised two greatly beloved sons, Jim Jr. and Ray.  They suffered the worst kind of anguish a parent can endure when their son Ray suffered a nearly fatal accident in his teen years that left him in a coma for several months.  When Ray emerged from the coma it seemed to his parents like a resurrection, but he remained disabled from a head injury for the remainder of his life.  With his parents steadfast support Ray regained many of the faculties it was feared had been lost forever.   Jim became a champion in advocating for support networks for the head injured in the State of New Jersey and took pride in the strides Ray made in his recovery.   Jim and Marian also took pride in their son Jim,, Jr.'s career as a successful concert promoter in New Jersey.  They adored their two grandchildren, Thomas and Kaleigh.  When Jim lost his beloved Marian seven years ago it left a deep sorrow in his life.  Jim had a big heart that felt passionately, loved deeply. In spite of the challenges of his life, Jim was quick to share a laugh.  He has been received into the arms of the God who cherished him and saw him through the dark times of his life.  He resides now in the eternal light of God's love  in the great communion of saints.  



Rest in Peace Dad.  I am sorry that no one told me of your passing till yesterday.   I know you struggled after Mom passed.   Glad you are finally at peace.
