

Jerry House
June 25th 1941 – September 12th 2014
Jerry House passed away peacefully on September 12, 2014 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He fought a hard battle against cancer. He is predeceased by his Father, COL. Jerry D. House, Sr., Mother, Dorothy Balkcum House and sister, Barbara June House. Jerry was born at Ft. Monroe, VA and moved to St. Petersburg when he was 6 years old. He graduated from St. Petersburg High School and attended St. Petersburg Junior College and University of Florida.
Jerry was a sportswriter for the Evening Independent. He had his own byline called “One of the House.” Jerry was thrilled to have interviewed Casey Stengel and Ted Williams. He loved sports, especially, baseball and basketball. He coached Little Major League and Intermediate baseball teams. He played basketball since college, mainly at the old YMCA and Eckerd College.
Jerry spent 50 years of his life serving his clients and associates in the financial services industry. His last position was manager for Planning Advisors.
Jerry was a member of the St. Petersburg Beach Jaycees and Young Republicans of Florida and ran for a local political office. Jerry also worked with the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and put together several professional Old Timers baseball games.
He held leadership positions within the German American Society of Pinellas County. He and Nikki loved to visit, especially Germany.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Nijole, his daughter Vicki and husband Todd, his son Kevin and his wife Michelle, his son Brian, his step son Arturas and wife Inga, his step daughter Ernesta and husband Dainius, and ten grandchildren with one on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for any donations considered be made to St. Anthony's Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 4pm Friday, September 19, 2014 at the German American Society of Pinellas County, 8098-66th Street North, Pinellas Park, Florida 33782
