Joseph Lidon, 97, of St. Petersburg, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach, FL, Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 5:00p.m.
Mr. Lidon was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to José Lidon and Josefina Fuentes. He graduated from Purdue University as a mechanical engineer and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. After the war, he spent two years designing and building oil refineries in Venezuela and enjoyed a lengthy career in New Jersey with Chevron, USA. He then founded and led an engineering contracting firm until his retirement in 1985. Thereafter, he relocated to St. Petersburg, FL where he enjoyed a long and satisfying retirement rich with golf at the Isla Del Sol Country Club (at which he was a founding member), world travel, good friends and loving family.
Joe was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ellen Lidon (2018), and sons, Joseph (1996) and David Andrew (1978). He is survived by his wife, Peggy Davis-Lidon; his son, James Peter Lidon, and his wife, Paula Castaldo Lidon; and cherished grandchildren, Siobhan Elizabeth, David Jake, Joseph Dominic and Alexander James. Joe is also survived by step-sons, David Davis and wife Linda, Richard Davis and wife Deborah, Todd Davis, Clark Davis and step- daughters, Debra Davis Arnold and husband Charles, LuAnne Davis Lester and husband Joe; along with step-grandchildren/greatgrandchildren that he loved and cherished.
A Funeral Mass and burial will held in Clark, New Jersey, at a later date.
