Judith Hope Stouffer, aged 85, died peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, December 14, 2018. Born in Akron, Ohio, Judy spent most of her life in Saint Petersburg, where she worked 40 years as a processor for Prudential Insurance Company, though she committed her life’s work to serving others. Judy was known for her tireless dedication to children’s causes, including The Angelus Home for Children, for which she volunteered and raised funds for 40 years. She also served as a liaison for the All Children’s Hospital for 26 years, contributed countless hours to St. Vincent DePaul Society and Meals on Wheels and worked in volunteer roles as a parishioner at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Judy was small but mighty. She overcame challenges early in life with Super Woman resolve, relentless wit and a positivity that radiated to everyone around her. She loved small dogs and adopted dozens of strays throughout her life. She enjoyed singing and dancing. Though she did not have children of her own, Judy was loved as a mother-figure by many. Judy is preceded in death by her life partner Dan Wilson and is survived by her sisters Susan Hill and Ann Francis (Paul), nieces and nephews: Valerie Kendall (Bill), James Arnold, Molly Judy, Joseph Davis (Tracy), Maureen Francis, Sean Francis, Eileen Jimenez (Edward) and Michael Francis (Laura), as well as numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
