June Walsh, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in Treasure Island, FL. She was born November 13, 1936 to John and Helen (Eberhardt) Mehler. She married Richard D. Walsh III in May of 1960 who preceded her in death in 2010. June was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She was educated at Bishop McMahon High School and never stopped learning, taking college classes throughout her life. She worked as a secretary in Kenmore-Tonawanda NY public schools and ultimately retired as an Executive Assistant from Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA in 1995. June and Dick retired to Florida in 1995 where they enjoyed coastal living and their community at Key Capri. She loved leading exercise class in the pool, talking about football, politics, and books with her grandsons, and enjoying an active lifestyle. She had a quick wit and loved a good laugh. She is the devoted mother of Kevin (Carin) Walsh of Durham, NC, and Kelly Walsh (Steven Matzat) of Cary, NC. Loving grandmother of Jackson Walsh of Chevy Chase, MD and Henry Walsh of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 9th at 11:00am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in St. Pete Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, Catholic masses said for June would be most appreciated. Alternately, donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude’s Hospital (stjude.org) or the ASPCA (aspca.org).

Dan and I enjoyed many a night bellied up to various piano bars with Dick and June. We loved watching June sing along with the piano player and gabbing and laughing all night.
When they moved to Bethlehem PA , we would pack up our 5 kids in the car and make our way to June and Dick’s house for Thanksgiving weekend. They didn’t blink an eye about having the 7 of us stay at their house year after year for that holiday. No big deal. We had a blast ,,, and left their kids to watch our kids while we went out at night to then belly up to yet another piano bar while in town ! They were like our friends, not our Aunt and Uncle. So much fun, so many fond memories. She will surely be missed, , but will always be in our hearts 💕 Love from Dan and Rosie

Dear Kevin and Kelly - so very saddened by the passing of your Mom. I am one of the Canadians she so graciously adopted and so generously shared her time. She was certainly fun to be with. I feel I know both of you as she spoke of her children so often. Such a loving relationship you all had. She will be missed by me and all her friends in Treasure Island.
Sincerely Carolyn McCrimmon
