Kathleen “Katie” D’Elia, 27, died suddenly on August 8 of acute leukemia, surrounded by her family. She was born February 26, 1987. Katie led a happy and creative life with Jimmi and will be missed terribly by all. She is survived by her mother and father, Leslie and Philip; her sister, Christina, and brother-in-law, Frankie Christ; her grandmother, Sally; her aunt, Diana; her aunt and uncle, Kathy and Dwight Ferguson; her cousin, Miranda Ferguson; and her partner, Jimmi Bayer. A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday at Beach Memorial Chapel, with a gathering of friends and family beginning at 4:00 pm.
