Dear brother to Julie (Brad) Hirsch and Amy (John) Caprilla. Loving Uncle of Ashlynn, Brianna and Cassidy Hirsch and Angelo, Vittoria and Vincent Caprilla. He was also the Godfather of Angelo Caprilla, Cassidy Hirsch and Tony Potesta. Kristopher was preceded in death by grandparents Robert and Marguriet Bobb and Anthony and Mary Triveri. Kristopher will also be missed by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Kristopher’s life had many chapters and within each he had a nickname. Bud was his very first Chapter and that is when he was born in Palos Park Illinois on June 22nd 1984 weighing a whopping 9lbs 12 ounces. He entered the family with two sisters who adored and dotted on him, quickly convincing him to play house, make plays and all sorts of other things but never complaining. This is where he grew his understanding and patience. Just rolling with their shenanigans, they spent countless hours outdoors in the backyard, building forts, tractor rides, golf cart rides, shooting hoops on the court, splashing in the pool and just hanging out in the barn playing arcade games. Football was life at this point and he spent his days on the field playing tackle with the Palos Stars. He grew his love for the water in pure Michigan with his family in his “Bud” era, riding jet skis and driving the boat as fast as he could! Go Blue was a constant in his vocabulary a Die Hard Michigan Fan echoed through his childhood. He transitioned into “Kris”! This is where he enjoyed his high school days at Marist, driving his Grand Prix GTP with the music blaring and bass bumping. Everyone knew when Kris arrived at school. His big heart began to shine when he would visit nursing homes to spend time with its residents. Whether it being a simple conversation, a hug or some jokes it was a time where Kris shared his genuine giving spirit. The many dear friends he met at Marist carried him into the next Chapter, Lil Bobb at Western Michigan University. Having two sisters already there made it hard to escape being the youngest sibling. But with much humility and perseverance he managed to make it through his days at WMU by being “Lil Bobb”and he never touched ketchup ever again. “KB” began the next chapter in his life and that was when he was drawn back to the family business and began his career in the trucking industry. His laughter would fill the loading docks and there wasn’t a driver that didn’t love “KB”! Working along side his father was something he took much pride in and one that he held close to his heart. That intimate time they shared together each and every day was unmatched, they were the best of friends. This is also the time that KB rescued his beloved dog Cicero from a shelter. Staying true to his compassionate heart he instantly fell in love and they became the best of companions. Rolling into “K Baller” chapter, fast cars and boats and much adventure. His love for Captaining Boats began in Chicago on Lake Michigan. He loved being behind the wheel and watching his guests fully embrace the day out on the water. This is also the time that he became a wish granter for The Make a Wish Foundation. His love for granting wishes to these children were everything to him. His favorite one was doing a room makeover. The softer side of “K Baller” enjoyed watching Lifetime Movies with his mom and making bracelets and crafts with his nieces along side throwing footballs and sharing his love for music to his nephew. Never missing a moment to do the non traditional things as he was always a kid at heart. Change was on the horizon for him and the Sunshine State was calling for him. This is where “Kris Breezy” chapter begins in Florida. As he would say, “I live where you Vacation”! This was his home, his ultimate happy place that made him feel connected to his purpose and fulfillment in life. He built a life in an unknown place and with his easy demeanor and quick funny banter he gained beautiful friendships that made him feel right at home. From chartering boats to managing a bar he was always the smile and laughter everyone wanted to be greeted with each day. He lived on his island of paradise and was fulfilled daily that he got to stick his toes in the sand and watch the sun rise and set each and every day! His final chapter was “Krispy” and this was a name he was given by his amazing team of nurses and staff throughout his hospital stay. Even through all his hardships he found a way to connect to everyone. The people that worked tirelessly to improve his health each and everyday were touched by him. With limited ways to communicate “Krispy” found a way to show his love and gratitude to all of them. With side jokes, smiles and small banter, like which Chicago Pizza was better, he was always likable and their favorite patient. The love he gave was palpable and evident in the connections and stories we heard and witnessed. No matter which chapter you met Kristopher in there was no doubt that there was deep love and warmth. He never missed a moment to make you feel like you mattered. In 42 years he lived a full life and as they say it isn’t how long you live but the life you live in the years your given.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to "Support Mental Health America’s Vital Work". See donation link below.
