Higgins, Margaret (Peg) M. (nee: McLaughlin), 94, born in Rennselaer, NY, formerly of Cape Cod, MA, Port St. Lucie, FL and St. Petersburg, FL, died on September 21, 2015 in St. Petersburg, FL. Peg was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, James E. Higgins, Sr., her eldest son, James E. Higgins, Jr. and her brothers, James McLaughlin of Albany, NY, and William McLaughlin of Troy, NY. She is survived by five sons: Patrick J. Higgins (Jeanne) of Chandler, AZ, William J. Higgins (Careen) of Vernon, NJ, Richard T. Higgins (Vicki) of St. Petersburg, FL, Robert P. Higgins of Plymouth, MA and Michael K. Higgins of Middletown, CT, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Evangelist & St. Joseph Parish, 50 Herrick St., Rensselaer, NY, 12144, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015, which would have been Peg & Jim’s 73rd wedding anniversary. Family will be receiving guests at the church beginning at 9:30 am. Burial Service for Peg and Jim, where they’ll be interred together, will take place at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, East Greenbush, immediately following the Mass.
