Stephanie R Feller
October 26, 1969 – January 7, 2021
Our world has gotten a little darker with the passing of Stephanie Rose (Sweeney) Feller on Jan 7, 2021. She was 51 years of age, born on October 26,1969, at the Andrews AFB Medical Center in Camp Springs, Maryland to her parents, Steve and Carol Sweeney. She is survived by her parents, husband Rick, children Sam and Meg and sister Kelly. As a child, her love of music showed through at an early age as she played her bassoon in middle, high school and college and self taught herself to play the piano. As she grew and matured, she developed many friends at each of her Dad’s new duty assignments. As such, she lived in Maryland, Minnesota, Texas, Virginia and Florida and retained friends for life from all locations. She went to the University of Florida (go Gators), completed an anthropology degree and met her husband to be Rick Feller. They were married in 1993 and resided in Margate, Florida and later in Maple Grove, Minnesota While in Florida, she completed an additional degree in mathematics and taught high school math in Broward County. She was especially proud of helping a student doing poorly in her class whom she discovered needed glasses but was unable to afford them. She helped her get glasses and her math grades improved markedly. In Maple Grove, she organized a very successful community program to help families faced with pediatric cancer. She dedicated her life to supporting her family and her positive spirit serves as an inspiration to us all. Husband Rick was her true love and soul mate and supported her in all endeavors of which there were many. Be it sea shell hunting, rock hounding, nature photography, fishing, she excelled in them all with passion and skill. She had many dear friends from high school, college and the communities she grew up in. They stayed in contact over the years, planned road trips and used Facebook to great advantage to keep in touch which is a testimonial to her love of people and their love for her. In her private facebook account (Stellar Feller), she had 248 very close friends. She had recently relocated to Tierra Verde, Florida and was enjoying the sunshine, water, beaches and natural beauty of the State. She found and nurtured a baby octopus that survived a beach stranding and reveled at locating a bald eagle’s nest near her home. She especially loved fishing with Rick and invariably caught the biggest fish. An evil cancer claimed Steff’s life way too early but she managed to extract the most from the years she lived. God speed to you Steff. You passed with strength, dignity and grace and you will be remembered by all fortunate enough to have known and loved you. Warrior on Stellar Feller, warrior on. You had cancer but never let cancer have you. Memorials may be sent to the Mayo Clinic for Cancer Research, Rochester, Minnesota.

My fellow Foo Fighter fan! I met Steph through mutual friends as we both battled cancer. I wish I knew her longer as my life would have been better for it. She has been and will continue to be my inspiration as I too battle this horrible disease that takes too many too soon. She will forever be in my heart and when my time comes I know I’ll see her beautiful smile again.
