With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan B. Bachmann, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and a cherished member of the Tampa Bay community. Susan peacefully left this world on November 8th, 2025, surrounded by her children Kaitlyn Keffer and Joshua (Veronica) Keffer, and with her beloved husband, Jeffrey Bachmann, at her side holding her hand.
Born on July 6th, 1965, at the Stuttgart Army Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany, Susan earned a master’s degree from University of Southern California and pursued a fulfilling career as a member of the U.S. Air Force for 23 years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Susan lived many places throughout her life including Germany, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, California, Oklahoma, Colorado, Hawaii, and Florida. Beyond her professional life, Susan spent her time occupied in many projects, traveling the world with her husband, family, and friends, and as much time as she could with her children and animals (Nelson-her service dog for 12 years, Pebbles, Apollo, & Theia). Susan was also an active member of the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, a lifetime fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, member of American Legion Post 158, a gardener, and enjoyed ocean boat rides as often as she could.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother Esther Brunt. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 16 years, Jeffrey Bachmann; father, Thomas Brunt; siblings, Steven Brunt and Kathryn (Brent) Miller; as well as her children, Kaitlyn Keffer and Joshua (Veronica) Keffer; and her stepchildren, Andrew (Sydney) Bachmann, Adam Bachmann, and Amanda Bachmann. Susan cherished time with her family, especially during the holidays when they all made an effort to come together.
