Susan (Sue) Cadigan passed away after a long battle with lung cancer at St. Pete Beach, Florida.
Sue was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late William J. Cadigan Sr. and Virginia Johnson Cadigan in 1951. She graduated from St. Genevieve in Elizabeth and Mother Seton High School in Clark, NJ. She had a long and successful career as a generic drug buyer and was well known in the industry. She especially enjoyed her last assignment at Morris Dickson, where the company was very kind to her when she became sick. Darts, Irish Music, ceramics, the Jersey Shore and casinos were some of her interests. She was a long-time member of the Joseph Nugent Sr. Association. She ran many of their Make A Wish fundraisers and was Irishwoman of the Year, before moving to Florida. Many of her family members still have ceramic Nativity sets that Sue painted. Two of her favorite Irish bands were the Wolfe Tones and the Willie Lynch Band. She enjoyed her “Cruise of the Irish Allstars” and trips to Ireland vacations. While she had a lifelong love of the Jersey Shore, particularly Spring Lake, Belmar and Point Pleasant, she enjoyed her transition to the Tampa Bay area. Conch Republic and Sea Hags were favorites at St. Pete Beach. The move to the Tampa area was easy since it was the Spring Training home of the New York Yankees. Susan was a fan of many seasons. The main decorations of her home were Yankee memorabilia, particularly of Derek Jeter.
Susan is survived by her sister Kathy Cadigan Alexander and her husband John of Houston, TX; her brother William J. Cadigan Jr. and his wife Kathy of Jupiter, FL and her brother Timothy Cadigan and his wife Michele of Rockville, MD. She always cherished her nephews and nieces: Jennifer of Woodbury, MN, William III of Rye, NY, Meagan of Alexandria, VA, Kaitlin of Houston. TX and Brian of Silver Spring, MD. Susan was a devoted Godmother to William Cadigan III and Mary Beth Lynch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in New Jersey at a date to be determined followed by a Celebration of her life.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.beachmemorial.com for the Cadigan family.
