Terry Drof

Terry Lee Drof, age 63, of St. Petersburg, Florida passed away on Saturday October 24, 2020 in his home after a short battle with HLH, a rare blood cancer. Terry was born to James William Drof and Shirley Ann Drof on November 18, 1956 in Bremen, Indiana. On March 17, 1979 he married Mary Suzanne Meazell in Atlanta, Georgia.

He is preceded in death by grandparents William Carl Drof, Gladys Marie Drof, Lester Lloyd Long, Elsie Margaret Long, father James William Drof, and brother Richard William Drof.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne of 41 years, daughter Mary Katherine (Kate) Drof, son-in-law Steven Michael Pope, son Ryan James Drof, daughter-in-law Hyejin Choi, son Cody Levi Drof, mother Shirley Ann Drof, nieces Lauren Nicole Drof and Heather Leola Keller, and beloved grandchildren Milo James Pope and Lennon Ophelia Pope.

Terry was a man of great faith and loved the Lord with all his heart. He served in the United States Army from 1977 to 1980. He enjoyed designing and building amplifiers and received his Associate’s Degree in Electronics from George Brown University in 2010. He worked for State Farm as an Insurance Adjustor for 30 years. Terry was passionate about music of all kinds and spent much of his retirement writing and recording his own songs. Terry was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching football, baseball and hockey. Above all else, he was a family man and will always be remembered for his kindness, strength, integrity, generosity, and peaceful nature. Terry was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Monday November 23, 2020 at 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life for friends and family at Lake Seminole Park at 11:00 am.
