

She was born to Jeannette Marie Mack Cassidy and David Edward Cassidy
on October 7, 1920 in New London, Connecticut. She was raised in New York City,
was an only child and fiercely independent. She graduated from high school in 1936
and was employed by the US Postal Service. Virginia retired to Florida in the 70's
and made Treasure Island and St Pete Beach her home. She is the widow of
Myron (Mike) Kaplan. She loved animals and enjoyed interior design, movies
and travel. She was a pioneer feminist ahead of her time. Virginia was a registered
Democrat with a liberal viewpoint. She was sharp and politically active, participating
in every election during the span of her lifetime. She enjoyed watching news commentary
programs and relished discussing the daily events. Virginia is survived by her
devoted family: Carol Giovannoni, Christopher Graus, Kyle Giovannoni and
Vincent (Catherine) Giovannoni.
A celebration of Ginny will be held at 6 PM on May 3, 2016 at Beach Memorial Chapel, St Pete Beach, Florida.
