OBITUARY
Angela Moguel
March 1, 1929 – February 13, 2021
Angela Calderon Moguel, 91 years old, of Houston, Texas, passed away February 13, 2021. She was born in Manila, Philippines, on March 1, 1929. Angela was a retired Home Economics teacher from Arellano High School in Manila, a retired sales associate from Auchan Hypermarket in Houston, then Sears, Foley’s and finally, Macy’s, both in Pasadena, California, and in Houston.
She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas, and was a regular contributor to various religious missions.
Angela loved shopping and travel. Her jobs at different retail stores allowed her to know everything on sale and she never missed a sale. When she was able, Angela enjoyed annual vacations to locations around the world. She went on cruises, pilgrimages, vacation packages, all on her own.
She was a fantastic cook. Her desserts were sought after and requested by friends for a variety of occasions. People remembered and associated her with specific dishes and snacks that she prepared because they enjoyed her cooking so much.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Hermenegildo Moguel, Sr. and Matilde Calderon Moguel, and her brother Alberto Calderon Moguel.
She is survived by her brothers Hermenegildo Moguel, Jr. and wife, Milagros, and Leonardo Moguel and wife, Teresa, sisters Concepcion Tombo and Vicenta Moguel, daughters Mapaz Madrigal and Malou Marasigan, son-in-law Duke Marasigan, grandchildren Yasmin and husband, Franky Malaya, Nicole Marasigan and husband, Donny Nguyen, Bianca and husband, Arkie Marquez, Maurice Marasigan and Shantel Saludares, Nadine Madrigal, Rachel Madrigal, and Dylan Marasigan, and great grandchildren Blake and Zachary Marasigan, and Stella Marquez, as well as extended family and friends.

I believe it was Thanksgiving dinner, the family was at Lizle's place, and unknown to everyone, I got on one knee and proposed to Melissa. Before I actually said the words "will you marry me", Ninang said, "what the hell are you doing? The Laker game is on". That was Ninang, no-nonsense, straightforward lady! Ninang, enjoy your day in Paradise. I am still sorry for the buffet that you paid for everybody ($700 plus)......I love you very, very much!!!

Celebrating a life well lived.
Angela was a loving sister of 5, mother of 2, grandmother of 7, great-grandmother of 3, and friend to many. She always did what she could to provide for those she loved, and will be tremendously missed by all that knew her.
In her nearly 92 years, Angela seized many opportunities to experience the culture, food, and shopping that the world had to offer. From ziplining in Costa Rica to camel-back riding in Egypt, her adventurous escapades were a source of many of her cherished memories, stories, and souvenirs.
Angela had many hobbies at home, too. She took pride in her cooking and baking, and her mocha cake recipe will be carried on. Angela loved jewelry. Fittingly, her last retail position was at a department store jewelry counter. Luckily for her loved ones, she often shared her treasured pieces to make room for new ones. Angela loved collecting in general - hundreds of salt and pepper shakers once lined her bedroom walls, and the refrigerator door was covered in magnets from her travels. In her downtime, she read countless books and watched NBA games.
She will be forever in our hearts.
