

Calvin Jed Foronda, 30, of Houston, a loving son and brother, passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to cholangiocarcinoma on Monday, April 1, 2016, surrounded by his fiancee, his parents and his sister.
Growing up, he went to St. Thomas Episcopal School for elementary and middle school where he learned how to play the drums. Jed was a Cub Scout in 1991 and throughout the years, he worked up the ranks of scouting. In 2003, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 99 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Jed graduated from Bellaire High School in 2003. In 2009, he received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from University of Houston graduating Cum Laude. He was also a member of the Lambda Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
Jed was an accomplished visual artist and beloved figure in the Houston arts community. His mixed media work was exhibited throughout Houston and the United States including Lawndale Art Center, McMurtrey Gallery, Gallery HOMELAND and Rush Arts Gallery in New York City. He was the recipient of the Knights of Rizal Excellence Award and the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series 2012 National Winner at Art Basel Miami.
He loved eating and cooking, and spending time with his fiancee, his dog, his family and friends. He also loved traveling across the globe, especially to the Philippines, England, Holland, China, and Italy.
Jed fought his cancer with grace and humility, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of this loving, kind man. We pray for him, and thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.
Jed is survived by his parents, Don and Letty Foronda of Houston, Texas; his grandmother, Isidora Camero Foronda of Vallejo, California; his sister, Lara Foronda Tai and brother-in-law, Eugene of Austin, Texas; his dog, Dougie Fresh of Houston, Texas; and his beautiful fiancee, Angel Oloshove, of Temperance, Michigan. He is also survived by his nephew and niece, Tommy and Lizzie, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
