Carlos Jovito Pena

Carlos was born in Durania, Colombia in a very Catholic family, the second of five siblings. He moved to Venezuela when he was a child and lived a wonderful life in the countryside. He soon realized he loved fixing diesel equipment: the bigger the machine, the happier he was. In 1969, in a trip to the US with the hope to learn English and become a diesel technician, he met the love of his life, Irma Bolivar, who was immediately captivated by this humble, generous, gentle, and kind-hearted man. After a three years long-distance relationship, they married in Venezuela in 1972.

Carlos’ entire life was defined by love, faith, and a sincere goodness toward others. He had a peaceful spirit and warmth that made those around him feel comfortable and cared for. Everyone who knew him will remember him as a man with a truly noble heart — the kind of person who leaves a lasting impression simply through the way he treats others.

Above all, Carlos was a man of faith. He loved God and carried his trust in Him throughout his life. His faith was reflected in the way he lived — with humility, patience, kindness, and love for others. He believed in God and in His mercy, and we find comfort today in knowing that he is now in His presence, resting in His loving arms.

It was rare to ever see Carlos angry with anyone. He had a gentle, peaceful, and affectionate way of relating to others. He loved to talk, to dance, to eat, and to be surrounded by family and friends. He never met a stranger, and his kind heart made the people around him feel loved, safe, and at peace.

Carlos is survived by his children, Irma Karina and Carlos Edwaldo, his sisters Nydia and Estela and brother Waldo. He was preceded by his mother Mery, his father Honorio, his brother Eduardo, and his beloved wife Irma.

His passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who love him. Yet, there is comfort in knowing that his life does not end here. We believe that he now rests in the presence of God, free from suffering and surrounded by His everlasting love.

Although we can no longer hold him in our arms, his love will remain with us. Although we can no longer hear his voice, his memory will continue to live in our hearts. And when our time comes, we trust that, by the grace of God, we will see him again.

May God welcome Carlos into His Kingdom, grant him eternal rest, and give strength and comfort to all who mourn his passing. Carlos will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and eternally loved.
