Connie G. Soliz, born Consuelo Garza Soliz, passed away on, Friday October 24, 2025 in Stafford,Texas at the age of 87. She was born on October 20, 1938, in Houston, Texas, to Abel and Guadalupe Garza. Connie attended school in Houston and graduated from Sam Houston High School.
Connie married Blas Villarreal, with whom she had six children: Peggy Castillo, Cynthia Villarreal, Pamela Otto, Diane Juarez, Dorcas Patterson, and Blas Villarreal. Although life circumstances led to a divorce and separation from some of her children, she was blessed with 18 grandchildren. Connie later remarried Bennie Soliz, and together they built and opened Soliz Casa De Tacos in Stafford, Texas. The taqueria, known for its quality, remains open 41 years later and is now operated by her grandsons, Eric and Taylor.
Connie passed peacefully in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Jim Otto. She will be laid to rest at Forest Park Westheimer beside her husband, Bennie.
