Hey Bro. I miss hearing you say "Sis, I love you". I miss the phone calls and the texts. I miss you showing up to our front door. I miss your conversation, going to the store with you, our hour long conversations. I am so glad you can now see how many lives you have touched and how inspiring you are to every person you met. Just by your constant smile and happy spirit, you have changed everyone who spoke to you. There is a void and a huge empty hole in my heart. I selfishly want you here with me, but I know you are so happy to be in heaven. The pain I feel from losing you is constant and never leaves my mind David. It hurts. I will try to be more like you in this life David. I love you more.

David, I miss you, we miss you so much. I hate that I can't just call you about something or you just won't pop up at the house anymore. I still tear up every time I think too hard about you. I thought I was going to see you grow into a great dad, uncle, brother and man we all saw you growing to be. I remember first meeting you, 14, thought you had the world figured out. I'm just honored to say I even knew you, let alone loved you. You'll live on forever, I promise you. I miss you so much buddy. I can't say that enough. Cleaning out your apartment was so hard. My heart is so grateful to God for letting me have David James for 19 years 7 months 27 days.  I try not to be too sad because we are separated only for awhile and then forever, eternity we will all be together.  After graduating highschool you always told me and George that you were going to make us proud of you and I would tell you that we were already proud of you.  Well we are overwhelmed with the stories of love that folks have shared with us about your love, giving, politeness and your sweet smile, your sweet, sweet smile.  We are so proud of you.  Shiloh prays every night to Jesus, thank you Jesus that David James wont get hurt on his motorcycle again.  Savannah and Wyatt just want to see you tomorrow, They say this every night. To my dear friend Kellie and family. I am so sorry to learn of David's passing. He was an awesome young man, always with a warm smile and respectful demeanor. I loved teaching Sunday school with him because he was so patient and gracious with the kids. He loved kids and his family so much. He loved to tell me about you all and about making plans for baby Shiloh's arrival. He would beam with joy when Savannah would come in and hug his neck. Over the last year, it was always a pleasure to catch up with him and find out about his love for welding and going back to school. I am praying that our Father, who created your beautiful mothers heart, will comfort you and give you strength as He keeps you all in His hands.

On behalf of Heather Ridge Apartments we want to express our deepest condolences to the Garrett Family. We feel so honored to have known David. He would always come into the office to pick up his packages. We had the honor of visiting with him on Friday before his accident. He pulled up at the office driving a Time Warner vehicle and we were so happy to see he had started a new job with them. He was all smiles and was letting us know that he was going to Houston to visit his family. He never came into the Leasing Office without a smile on his face. He was indeed a favorite resident of ours and he will always be remembered. God Bless his entire family.

My heart is full of compassion for the whole family. His manners were genuine and he was a young man that knew what he wanted and was willing to do the work to achieve his goals. I will miss this young man.
