

Dianna Lee (Waters) Pollard passed away peacefully at the age of 74, comforted by her husband and daughter, in Sugar Land, Texas, on February 1, 2022. She was born on March 28,1947, in Denver, Colorado, to her loving parents, A.L. “Roy” Waters and Margaret “Marge” Waters.
Dianna is preceded in death by her father, Roy Waters; mother, Marge Waters; and beloved dog, Dolly. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 52 years, James “Jim” Pollard; daughter, Carol Kyser; son-in-law, Kevin Kyser; granddaughter, Kira Kyser; grandson, Clark Kyser; sister, Peggy Lowe; brother-in-law, Ken Lowe; and nephews, Michael Lowe and Brian Lowe and his family (wife, Chelsey; daughter, Berkley; and son, Boden).
In her youth, Dianna enjoyed going on adventures to Lakeside Amusement Park and baking with her sister at their home in Golden, Colorado. She graduated from Golden High School in 1965. Dianna began working after high school as a secretary in a law office. She then took a position as a library assistant at the Colorado School of Mines, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Jim. Jim was studying for his degree in engineering. Foregoing an elaborate wedding, they eloped and married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 13, 1970. Jim took a job as a chemical engineer in Saudi Arabia in 1975. Dianna was a stay-at-home mother and devoted her life to her family.
While living overseas, Jim and Dianna traveled the world together. They visited countless exotic locations including Egypt, Portugal, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Hawaii. In 1980, they returned to Colorado to give birth to their daughter, Carol, before moving back overseas. Jim and Dianna traveled to the United States often to visit family and enjoyed vacations to Disney World and the mountains of Colorado. In 1988, Jim and Dianna returned to the United States for good and built their dream house a few years later in Missouri City, Texas. They created countless great memories together during their 30 years in their family home. Jim and Dianna celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 13, 2020.
Dianna loved animals and felt compassion for the mission of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to “provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals.” She was a monthly donor to the ASPCA. She also felt a connection to the importance of the mission of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) “to relentlessly pursue an equitable world for every child.” She was also a monthly donor to UNICEF.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. (CT), at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, with a reception to follow. Jim and Dianna’s dear friend, Larry Blake, will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, we request you donate in Dianna’s name to the ASPCA or UNICEF.
