Donna Marie Buczo, 86, of Meadows Place, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1939, in Youngstown, Ohio to parents, Michael and Ann Kuba. Donna will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for a life marked by steady devotion, faithful service.
She spent part of her early life in Petersburg, Ohio, living in a log cabin with running water only in the kitchen, where the family kept chickens and tended a vegetable garden. After the death of her mother when Donna was about 10 years old, she moved to Boardman, Ohio. Even at a young age, Donna showed determination and capability; at 14, she took driver’s training, and her teacher entered her into the Ohio Rodeo—an advanced driving test—where she placed 2nd overall in the local contest and 6th in the state contest.
At 19, Donna began her career with General Motors. She retired after 30 years of service, a testament to her loyalty and steadfast work ethic. In the years that followed, her kind-hearted nature continued to show through in roles that centered on welcoming and caring for others, helping at Bake-O Paint and Body as a greeter and serving at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home as a Funeral Service Attendant since 2012.
On September 14, 1963, Donna married Coleman “Pete” Buczo. Together they built a family life rooted in love and commitment. Their son, Coleman “Chip” Michael Buczo, was born in 1964. Donna’s devotion to family was evident in the time they spent together, especially on the water. Weekends often meant the lake or Galveston, enjoying their boat, “The Resurrection.” Donna’s love for the water was inseparable from what mattered most to her—being together with the people she loved.
Donna also gave generously of her time to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. In faithful service, she volunteered to assist the church with Mass on the weekend, being part of the liturgy along with art and environment committee, preparing flowers for the altar during all seasonal events. She helped with weddings and funerals—offering a steady, compassionate presence during both joyful beginnings and tender goodbyes.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Buczo; her parents, Michael, and Ann Kuba; and her brothers, James Kuba and Rev. William Kuba. Donna is survived by her son, Chip Buczo and his wife Traci; her grandson, Cole Buczo; her granddaughter, Abigail Buczo; her niece, Ann Kuba-McCoy; and her nephew, James Kuba.
A visitation will be held in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass is to be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, at St. Thomas the Aquinas Catholic Church, 12627 W. Bellfort Ave in Sugar Land, where Fr. Jaison Thomas is to officiate.
