

Donna (Dempsey) Golemi was born May 1, 1943, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She passed peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Missouri City, Texas where she lived for the last three decades. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Dempsey and Ragine (Starrett) Moore, and her husband Frank Golemi.
Donna grew up in Sulphur Springs and Dallas, Texas. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School and was a Captain on the drill team. She began her undergraduate work at Baylor University and later transferred to The University of Houston where she received her teaching degree. She returned several years later to receive her Master’s Degree. She worked as a teacher her entire career, spending one year teaching and traveling in Central America. She brought energy, creativity, and deep commitment to her classroom shaping the lives of countless students with her passion for learning and her gift for teaching.
Donna was a bit of a free spirit. Her sweet southern demeanor masked a strong and resilient interior. She was courageous in her search for meaning and purpose and always followed her heart. She was known for her generous spirit, was loving and kind, and always there for friends and family. She enjoyed her grandchildren, spending time with loved ones, good food and gardening. She also loved cheering on the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints with her husband, Frank.
She was a faithful Christian and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She grew up Baptist and in later years attended the Catholic Church with her husband, Frank.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Every and husband, Nathan; grandchildren Emma Reilly and Oliver Pace; Frank’s five children and their spouses, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her sister Marian Faucett and husband, Jim; niece Elizabeth Hancock and her family and Rob Faucett and his family.
Donna was able to spend the last years of her life in her home, as she wished, thanks to the loving care of Gina Chayeb.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Quail Valley Garden Club Scholarship Fund or Houston Hospice.
