Edward Richard Prusik of Sugar Land, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, after being diagnosed with leukemia in February. He was born in Albany, New York to Edward John Prusik and Catherine Westervelt Martin. He was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Kathleen Joan Prusik.
Ed was in the U.S. Army for over 6 years serving in Germany and two tours in Korea. He served in the Armored Division (Hell on Wheels), Signal Corp. (Lineman) and Honor Guard. He was decorated for Expert (Carbine), Good Conduct Medal, Letter of Appreciation, and Marksman (Pistol).
After leaving the Army, he moved to Odessa during the height of the oil and gas boom. He used his experience in maintaining and rebuilding industrial and diesel engines. He then moved to Houston where he continued working in the same field. His last job was in Customer Service at EG&G Sealol, Inc. where he worked for almost 20 years before retiring.
Ed is survived by his two loving girls, his wife, Dorthea, of 43 years, and Sophia, their beloved dog, and his sister-in-law Kaye Sparks, her children and grandchildren.
