Eldee Park Jr.

Eldee Park, Jr., 87, died peacefully on September 25, 2010, in Missouri City, Texas, with Lynn, his wife of 64 years, by his side. Eldee was born June 20, 1923, in San Antonio, Texas. Eldee proudly served his country in World War II. He joined the Navy Seabees in 1941 when he was 19 and was stationed on Tinian Island in the South Pacific.

After being honorably discharged from the service, Eldee returned to Houston and married his sweetheart, Mattie Lynn Frank. Eldee worked at the Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer and later at Tellepson Construction Company in Houston. After working at Tellepson, Eldee became the General Manager for Howard Pool Company. Eldee and Lynn had three daughters, Diane, Carol, and Janice.

Eldee was preceded in death by his daughter Janice, and his mother and father Minnie Virginia and Eldee Park. He is survived by his wife Lynn, his daughter Diane Bailey and husband Bill, his daughter Carol Park, grandson Matt Binford and wife Ellen, and granddaughter Kelsey Park Gray.

A Memorial Service for Eldee will be held at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, Texas, on Wednesday, September 29, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at: donate.americanheart.org.
