

With great sadness we announce the passing of our wife and mother, Esperanza Rodriguez. She passed away at the age of 59 on January 25, 2020 due to a long battle with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. Esperanza was born in Mission, Texas on July 15, 1960 to Eduardo Villarreal and Josefa Flores. Esperanza moved to Houston, Texas in 1985 then later moved to Stafford, Texas in 1995 where she continued to raise her four children with her husband.
Esperanza married the love of her life whom would take care of her and fight this battle with her. In 1990 Esperanza was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension and was given 2 years to live. Esperanza volunteered for a new drug testing program at Baylor College of medicine. Her love for her husband, children and grandchildren helped her in her fight to live many more years than expected. Esperanza was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her mother Josefa Villarreal, father Eduardo Villarreal, two brothers Baldemar and Alejandro Villarreal. Esperanza is survived by husband David Rodriguez, Daughters Jessica M. Rodriguez, Jennifer M. Perez, Sons John M Rodriguez, Jonathan Rodriguez, five grandchildren Xandria Barrera-Rodriguez, Trae Rodriguez, Ethan Perez, Damien and Julian Robledo, four brothers & five sisters, Eduardo Jr, Leonel, Guillermo, Ruben, Guadalupe, Virginia, Jesusa, Josefina and Graciela, many brother & sister-in-laws and so many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Esperanza had a vibrant personality and her love for family kept a smile on her face as she danced her way through life. She made friends everywhere she went, her heart was giving and loving. Esperanza always had her arms and door open, treated others like her own. Esperanza’s passion was cooking, and feeding everyone around her, she is famously known for her homemade tortillas along side her famous mexican rice. Since 1990 Esperanza has continued to fight her battle in and out of hospitals constantly fighting for her life. Her love for her husband, children and grandchildren helped her in her fight to live so many more years than expected. In May began the journey of her final fight. Throughout the entire battle Esperanza showed strength and incredible willpower to keep fighting the fight. Esperanza would spread joy anywhere she went. She had a laughter and contagious smile we will never forget. Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Esperanza's life at her celebration of life memorial service.
