Estrella Borromeo Botor

With hearts filled with both sorrow and gratitude, we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and friend. Estrella was born on September 2, 1930, in Santiago, Iriga City, Philippines, where her life began rooted in family, faith, humility, and love.

Estrella lived a life of unwavering Catholic faith, compassion, sacrifice, and devotion to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life reflected quiet strength, grace, and steadfast love.

Since the late 1970s, Estrella embraced the responsibility of being a single mother with remarkable strength and devotion. Through every challenge, she provided for and cared for her children, giving them love, guidance, stability, and an example of faith and determination that never wavered.

For 40 years, Estrella served as a Registered Nurse at Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, working night shifts with compassion, resilience, and grace.

Her greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for her faith, humility, quiet strength, and the love she poured into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. While our hearts mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing she has been welcomed into the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father and reunited with those who went before her in the presence of God.

Estrella was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arcadio; her parents, Leonila M. Borromeo and Teodoro Blanco Borromeo; and her siblings, Eleuterio Borromeo Sr., Vitaliano Borromeo Sr., Siegfriedo M. Borromeo, Remedios B. Taday, Irene B. Panga, and Maria B. Ordas.

She is survived by her loving children, Dante (Helene), Doris (Rob), Olive (Peter), Nimrod, Ira, and Homa (Thoma); her grandchildren, JV (Mary Day), Darrell, Ian, Michol, Alex and her great-grandchild, Darrell. She is also survived by many relatives and dear friends.

Estrella’s memory will live on through her family, the lives she touched, and the legacy of faith, compassion, strength, and love she leaves behind.
