Eva A Guevara

Eva A. Guevara, 70, of Missouri City TX, went to be with her lord peacefully, surrounded by her family July 9, 2017. She was born in Corpus Christi TX, April 4, 1947 to Domingo P. and Maria Arellano.

She graduated for West Oso High School in Corpus Christi TX. She later met and married Nicolas Guevara Jr., on May 26, 1969 in Corpus Christi TX. After they were married they moved to Houston, where they had their children Diana, Nicolas III and Monica.

Eva would then go on and work at the Fifth Ward Pregnancy Help Center. Her proudest accomplishments were countless hours of volunteer work at the public schools where her children attended growing up, counseling many young mothers in crisis pregnancies, and providing assistance for their babies and asking them to accept Christ in their lives.

Eva is preceeded in death by her father, Domingo P. Arellano; brother, Juan Arellano. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Nicolas Guevara Jr.; Daughters and Son-in-law, Diana Quam, and husband Erik, Monica Candenado; Son and Daughter-in-law, Nicolas Guevara, and wife Gina; mother, Maria Arellano; sister, Maria Rodriguez; brother, Ray Arellano; grandchildren, Ashley Candenado, Carlos Candenado II, Angel Candenado, Evan Quam, Dale Quam, Alissa Porter and great-grandson, Anthoney Castillo.

The family will meet friends Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.,at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford TX, 77477. The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 5th Street, Missouri City, TX 77489. The Committal service will follow at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston TX 77038.
