

Frank A. Golemi (89) of Missouri City, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Frank was born in New Orleans, LA on July 20, 1928 to Leon and Josephine (DiMarco) Golemi. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Anthony J. Golemi and his wife, Lena and his first wife, Dolores Golemi, mother of his five children. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Donna, his children; Anne, Mike and wife Linda, Judy and husband Brian Bearden, Sue and husband Steve Kinane, Paula, and stepdaughter Lisa and husband Nathan Every; and nine grandchildren; Michael and wife Nina, Tony, Angela, Kelsey and husband Alec Walker, Hailey, Lindsey and Emily, Emma and Oliver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank served with distinction as a Marine in Korea where he earned several medals, including the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He served as Squad Leader of Company C, 1st Batallion, 1st Marines, 1st Marines Division (Reinforced) and was wounded during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. He spent 2 ½ years in Germany, Hawaii and San Francisco recovering from his wounds.
After rehabilitation, Frank returned to New Orleans and attended Loyola University. He graduated in 3 ½ years with a B.S. in Accounting and began his professional career with Ingram Oil. In 1991 he retired as Vice President of Marketing and Development from Triangle Refineries after 25 years. In retirement he enjoyed traveling, playing golf and cheering on his beloved LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. One of the highlights of his life was seeing the Saints win Super Bowl XLIV in Sun Life Stadium on February 7, 2010. He loved spending time with family and friends by hosting parties and vacationing, particularly in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 28th from 5pm-8pm, with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00pm at Earthman Southwest, 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford, Texas 77477. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 29th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1510 5th Street, Missouri City, Texas 77489. The Rite of Committal will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas 77038.
Pallbearers are: Michael Golemi, Tony Golemi, Leon Golemi, Ronnie Golemi, Glen Golemi, Angelo Golemi
Honorary Pallbearers are: George Bruser, Allen Eggert, Mike Emerson, and Tom Hanlon.
The family requests in lieu of flowers a memorial donation to Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
