Gloria Carpenter, nee Phemister, longtime Houston resident passed away after a long illness, Thursday, 1/22/2015. Born in Paris, Texas 7/29/1948, Gloria was the third of seven children to Joshua and Evelyn Phemister. The family lived in Richardson, TX Predeceased by her mother Evelyn, Gloria is survived by her husband Don Carpenter, father Joshua Phemister, her 3 children Shawn and Shannon Wimmer and Amanda Carpenter. Her brothers Glenn (Carol), Larry (Sharon), Joshua, Jr, Chuck (Willow) and Russell (Kimberly) Phemister and her sister Rebecca (John) Martin. Also surviving are her grandchildren Taylor, Shawn, Lauren and Logan Wimmer and Dallas Gaviria. Gloria leaves behind many friends in the Houston area who remember her for her infectious laugh and her love for the Dallas Cowboys. She supported the Oilers and Texans, but never call during a Cowboy game. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM at the Earthman Funeral Home on S Kirkwood in Houston, visitation 1 hour prior, with burial services at 1:00 PM Monday at Restland Memorial Gardens in Richardson, Texas.
