passed away at 9:15 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Southwest Memorial
Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1941, in Innsbruck, Austria. She was the
daughter of Sgt. Samuel A. and Martha J. Storace. Hansie came to the
United States in 1957.
She began working in the food services industry, employed by Harry M.
Stevens, at the Summit in Houston before moving to the Astrodome.
There she was the manager of the Astrodome gift shops, a job that she
loved and took great pride in for many years. When Harry M. Stevens
was taken over by Aramark, she stayed with the company and was still
employed at Minute Maid Park until her death. She made many friends
over the 30 plus years she was employed by the company.
Hansie was confirmed in the Catholic faith at an early age and was a life
member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 5619. She loved working in
her garden, reading good romance novels, crocheting blankets, and
could be found on Sunday afternoons dancing to country music with
friends. Hansie will always be remembered as a loving mother, and
grandmother (Oma).
She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Storace, and mother,
Martha Storace. Hansie is survived by her son, John Anthony Hayes, of
Houston; daughter, Michele Martha Pharr, of Bryan, Texas, and her
husband Jarrod; grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Tyler
David Pharr, Thomas Michael Pharr, and Lauren Elisabeth Pharr; sisters
>Edeltrude Sonnier, and Maria Brewer; and numerous other loving relatives.
