

Ivan Earl “Rob” Robinson, 82 passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at his home in Richmond, Texas. He was born on February 16, 1940, to Clarence Aubrey Robinson, Sr. and Harriet Mervyn Robinson. Rob grew up in Mobile, Alabama and was the youngest of five siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clarence, Jr. and survived by his wife, Judy Carolyn Robinson; his daughter, Terri Lynn Robinson and his siblings, Don, Jean, Louise, and their families.
He married Judy Carolyn Proctor in Houston, Texas on June 5, 1965. They were happily married for 57 years until his death on January 13, 2023. They loved cruising and enjoyed 26 cruises over the years to visit different ports of destination all over the world. Their daughter Terri often joined them on cruises to celebrate holidays and special occasions or just enjoy a family vacation.
Rob had a commercial mechanical background specializing in pneumatic controls. He was a “jack of all trades” and never met a project he could not tackle at work, home or with automobiles. This expertise served him well in life and in his career, he retired as a Project Manager for Alief ISD. In August of 2019, Rob and Judy purchased a new home and relocated to Richmond, Texas to enjoy their retirement.
Rob was a well-rounded gentleman and participated in many activities in life. He was a ham radio operator and before the invention of cell phones he encouraged his family to become ham radio operators also, so they could communicate from home or cars. Rob was an avid bowler and for many years, he and daughter Terri enjoyed spending time bowling in leagues and tournaments. Rob took great pride in his appearance and had a fascination for watches and loved trading or purchasing a new one. He also enjoyed relaxing, cooking and grilling for family and friends.
Rob took great pride in being a Mason and Shriner, over the years he and Judy participated in many fundraisers for the Shriners. Rob represented the Shriners in parades, driving the little cars and motorcycles as well as running communications for the Shrine Circus EMS.
Rob will always be remembered for his amazing sense of humor and quick-witted attitude towards life and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
