Jesse Rodriguez passed away peacefully, on Sunday, May 5, 2019, surrounded by his beloved family.
Jesse was born in Houston, Texas on December 24, 1944. He graduated from Furr High School in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country as an Intelligence Specialist. Soon after his honorable discharge, Jesse continued his education at the University of Houston. He became a dedicated teacher with the Houston Independent School District, while attending University of Houston Law Center. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, and continued to serve his country through his work with the Department of Justice. He retired from federal service in 2012 as an Assistant US Attorney (Federal Prosecutor).
Jesse was preceded in death by his mother Cecilia G. Rodriguez, his father, Esequiel D. Rodriguez, and his son, Taylor Rodriguez Collins. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Caryn Beard Rodriguez, his mother-in-law Sue Getterman of Waco, Texas, and his two sons Bruce and Jarrette Moats. His daughter-in-law, Brittney Moats and his two grandchildren, Landen and Adalyn Moats. Jesse is also survived by his Aunt Josephine Rodriguez, siblings and their spouses, Esequiel Bill Rodriguez (Julia), Virginia Hernandez (Fred), Rick Rodriguez (Delia), Irma Konstantis, Sam Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez (Rosie), Luis Rodriguez (Sylvia), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jesse was loved by his family and friends, He dedicated his life to the betterment of our country. Following his retirement from federal service, Jesse enjoyed his leisure. He was an avid poker player, and engaged in many professional poker tournaments, and enjoyed working in their family owned real estate business “ Caryn Beard Properties.”
Family will receive visitors on May 9, 2019 from 5-8pm at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford, TX 77477. Funeral to be held on May 10, 2019 at Sugar Land First United Methodist Church at 2 pm, 431 Eldridge Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77478.
Jesse will be laid to rest at a private family graveside service.

I am truly sorry for your loss. May the God of comfort give you peace and strength during this difficult time. Psalms 29:11. Jesse was my first cousin and 9 years older that me. I did not really know Jesse but the one thing I remember of him was when he was in his teens. I was proud when I saw him dancing on TV on the Larry Kane Show (Houston version of the American Bandstand).
