Craig retired from the Harris County Sheriff Department’s Court Division as a Master Peace Officer after 27 years of service.
Craig will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Janet Smith Fendley; son Brian Joseph Fendley; brother E. Morris Fendley, Jr. and wife Lucille and their daughter, Brooke and son, Hunter and his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Edgar M. Fendley, Sr. and Aleta Folsom Fendley. Along with his mother, Craig was a registered member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
Craig loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding out on the lake in his boat with his friends and family. He spent many happy times camping in his RV with his wife and son.
He was also an avid hobbyist and greatly enjoyed building and flying large scale radio control airplanes. He was a member of the Fort Bend R/C Club. He always said the guys at the airfield were the best kind of people to know. Even though he was not actively flying his planes for the last couple of years, he continued to stay busy building them and talking with all the guys from the club. He also enjoyed staying in touch with all his fellow retirees from the sheriff's department.
He leaves behind a host of friends and family who truly cared about him and will greatly miss him and his sense of humor and love of life.
A celebration of life for Craig will be held on Thursday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford.
Immediately following, all are invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Craig during a reception to be held in the event room at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home.
