Kathryn (Kaye) Hudnall was born January 8, 1932 in Gary, Indiana and went to be with our Lord February 2, 2025 in Sugar Land, Texas – her home of almost 53 years. Kaye was an amazing wife, mother, Mimi and Great Mimi as well as a sister and caring daughter. Kaye was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved her time with the local Garden Club, she was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, she wrote a newspaper column about local happenings here in Fort Bend County, she was a real estate agent and so many other things, and at one point was the oldest Jazzercize member in the Houston Area – even performing at a Houston Rockets basketball game. But most of all, she was dad’s wingman for over 60 years. Kaye’s smile brightened a room. When they held a dinner party, she took time to speak to each and every person there, making them feel welcomed and special. Kaye could be ready for a royal ball in London on a moment’s notice, then turn around and drink a beer with longshoremen – all the while commanding love and respect. She loved to talk about the snow up north – and how glad she was that she didn’t live there anymore! She also loved to tell stories of her summer living in Mexico when she was 16-year-old.
Kaye is preceded in death by her devoted husband Jim Hudnall, her sister Sharon Fife and brother-in-law Jerry Fife, and an angel-great-granddaughter Charlotte. Kaye is survived by her sister, Judy Cleary; her children Tim Hudnall, Tom Hudnall and his wife Kim, and Susan Hudnall as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 1 more (that we know of!) on the way. Kaye loved her friends and family and her beautiful smile lives on in her family and in the hearts of everyone who ever met her.
A visitation for Kaye will be held Thursday, February 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford.
