Laverne Laurent George

LAVERNE LAURENT GEORGE, age 89, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011, in Sugar Land, TX. She was born on January 4, 1922, in Houston, to Milton Paul Laurent and Marie Simon Laurent. Laverne was a faithful and devout Catholic. She was an active member of the Teresians at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land. Laverne loved every moment spent raising her eight children, and later watching their families grow. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-six years, Gus George, and her son, Michael George. She is survived by her sons, Gus Milton George, Larry O. George and wife Valerie, Rick George and wife Linda; daughters, Laverne M. Moren and husband Bill, Linda George and Jack Green, Anne Ostarticki and husband John, Patti Morris and husband Gene; daughter-in-law, Diane George; eighteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; brother, Milton Paul Laurent, Jr. and wife Rosalie; and numerous other loving relatives. Visitation: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, September 11, 2011, Earthman Southwest Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2011, St. Theresa Catholic Church, 705 St. Theresa Blvd., Sugar Land. Rite of Committal: Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, Houston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Laverne’s name to St. Theresa Catholic Church.
