Leonard was born in the Bronx, New York on January 11th 1964 to Samuel and Juanita Francis, who preceded him in death. He was raised Episcopalian at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. Leonard received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising with a minor in Journalism from the University of Bridgeport, Ct. He loved music and taught himself to play the drums, bass guitar, and the electric guitar. He also was an avid fan of George Clinton, Parliament Funkadelic, and Fozzie Bear.
Leonard leaves behind his son, Leonard Allen Francis II, his daughter Juanita Francis, Grandchildren: Naima and Bella Francis, wife, Nanette, Sisters: Petrina Pyatt, Lakeeba Greenridge, and Rhonda Brisco and nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of other loved ones.
