She graduated from Tremper High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1967. After graduation, she relocated to Waukegan, Illinois, and was a long-time resident. She studied nursing, having a career as a nurse’s assistant. She loved the outdoors and spent many family trips fishing and camping with her two children. Consistently participating in school functions as a chaperone, baking plenty of sweet treats, cooking for the family and neighborhood children, and taking everyone to the outdoor theater was a gesture of love for her children.
The family would like to thank Maria Lillian’s nurse’s aide from Paradigm Nursing Home who cared for and loved her for four years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillian Lawrence. She is survived by her sisters, Sandra, Mildred, and her brother William; her son, Victor Lawrence; her daughter-in-law, Gina; her daughter, Angel Louise Coombs; her grandsons, Samuel and Daniel Coombs; her granddaughter, Denice Sharpley; her great-grandchildren, Elijah and John Sharpley and Laylah Jade Coombs, several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
