Louis C. Lara Jr.

Louis Carlos Lara Jr., age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 14, 1967, in Houston, Texas to Louis Lara Sr. and Juanita Ramirez.

In his younger years Louis was a football player and played baseball for Denver Harbor little league all-star. Louis worked as a truck driver for local companies such as Reddy Ice, Toby’s Ice Company, Jakes Finer Foods, Big Large Trucking Inc., and US Foods. He was a Texans fan, and his passion was playing drums and cooking BBQ.

Louis is preceded in death by his grandparents, Petra and Epifanio Lara and Esperanza and Perfecto Ramirez, his granddaughter, Lailanni Straight, and his mother-in law, Enedina Perales.

He is survived by his wife, Emily Lara; his parents, father-in-law, Sixto Perales Sr.; his step-mother, Esther Garcia; his sister, Amanda Jimenez (Rafeal), his sister, Christina Garcia (Fedincio); his brother, Bobby Lara (Suzanne), his sister, Griselda Galvan (Miguel), his sister, Rucio Garcia; his brother-in-law, Sixto Perales Jr. (Anita); his brother-in-law, Gabriel Perales, brother-in-law, Esteban Perales (Tracy); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His loving children, Joseph Straight (Lily), Louis Lara III, Christopher Lara (Ashley), Richard Hernandez (Elisa), Julian Hernandez (Christina), Emmanuel Hernandez (Kimberlyn), Cristal Hernandez, Lorenzo Lara, and Violet Lara.

His grandchildren who he loved so much, Lenna, Leanna Straight, Jacob, Avery, Hailey, Zachary Lara, CJ and Chloe Lara, Carlysia, Ezekiel, Olivia, Damion, Anthony, Isabella, Jayden, Julian Jr., Ethan, Kaleb, Isaiah, Noah, and Alanah Hernandez.

The Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Funeral Service will be held at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford, on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 am.
