Marc Warren Carter, age 52, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Marc was known for his unwavering strength, resiliency, boundless generosity, and genuine compassion—qualities he carried with him every step of the way.
Born on March 23, 1973, Marc was the beloved son of Thomas Victor “Tom” Carter Jr. and Kaye Warren Carter, whose loving guidance helped instill in him the values that shaped his life. His childhood was filled with travel, campfires at summer camp, and wild family vacations that became the stuff of legends.
After graduating from Dulles High School and Stephen F. Austin State University, Marc started out working in finance, moved into banking, and found a place in the print industry. No matter the job, he showed up with integrity, patience, and a calm nature that put everyone at ease. In every role, Marc was respected for his dedication, ethical leadership, and thoughtful engagement with others.
Marc was proudly nerdy. He loved science fiction, anime, comic books, The Cranberries, and pretty much anything with a great story and quirky characters. His enthusiasm was infectious—he always had a recommendation to share or a goofy joke to brighten your day.
Marc shared an extraordinary love with his high school sweetheart turned wife, Christine, with whom he built a life full of laughter, unwavering support, and deep devotion. Above all, he was a family man—pouring his heart into raising their three children: Caroline, Michael, and Matthew. With God by their side, they created a home filled with warmth, strength, and joy, where Marc’s presence was the quiet foundation and the light that made every moment meaningful.
As a father, Marc was everything: guide, hero, and co-conspirator in silly dad jokes. He taught them to laugh loudly, to dress appropriately for every occasion, to remember that “manners maketh man,” and to always hold their heads high—even in life’s toughest moments. Through his example, they learned the importance of honesty, integrity, and being true to oneself.
Marc is survived by his loving parents, Tom and Kaye Carter; his brother, Richard Carter, and Richard’s wife, Bobbie; his niece, Baylie, and nephew, Reeves; his sister-in-law, Karen Higgins; and his aunt and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his cherished grandparents and beloved uncle and in-laws, whom he loved dearly and remembered often.
Marc Carter was a good man. His legacy is etched in the lives of those he held dear—and it will never fade. He has boldly gone where many have been, and waits for his people to join him.
Love you! Still? Always. Ditto.
