Marilyn was a third generation Texan and a native Houstonian. She grew up in the Houston Heights and graduated from Reagan High School.
She was a gracious Southern lady who enjoyed gardening, decorating, antiquing, attending church activities, and spending time with her family and friends. Marilyn was also a working woman! She worked at Metropolitan Life (in the M&M building downtown) until she became a mother, and returned to work in the early 1970’s as the bookkeeper for Settegast-Kopf Funeral Home on Kirby Drive. She retired from Gulf Southwest Sales in Stafford, Texas in the late 1990’s.
Marilyn was a long-standing member of the Brightwater Neighborhood Garden Club and attended meetings up until January 2025. She held several Club Offices (Treasurer and Secretary), and served as Standing Committee Chairperson for Yard of the Month, Holiday Yard Decorations, and Club Scrapbook. Marilyn cherished the many friends she made in the Garden Club.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 68 years, Al Langdon, daughters Vivian Villar (Warren), Valerie Langdon, extended family members, and many loving friends.
