

Marlene was born on September 20, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois to Ray and Evelyn Holmes.
Marlene is survived by her son, Scott Krueger (Kim), daughter-in-law Diana Krueger, her sister-in-law Rosemarie Holmes, Grandsons: Ryan (Melissa), Kyle (Stephanie), Taylor (Kristin), Evan Krueger (Hannah Silber), granddaughters: Rachel Kent (Stephen), Jessica Dulin (Brandon), and Nicole Krueger (Sam Hirst), and great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Margaret, Lacy, David, and Matthew Krueger, Ava Kent and Braxton Dulin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, sons Stephen and Stanley, daughter-in-law Christine Krueger, brother Raymond Holmes, and parents Ray and Evelyn Holmes.
Marlene married Donald Krueger on June 12th, 1953 and were happily married for 68 years. Marlene was a humble soul, loved her family, was a great wife and mother, and wanted nothing more than to give her husband and three boys the best life possible. After staying home until her sons were in school, she started working at a bank and worked her way up to Vice President before retiring to take care of grandchildren.
Marlene and Don were founding members of Faith Lutheran Church in Carpentersville, Illinois, where they passed their faith to their boys. She loved music, played the clarinet, piano, and organ, was first chair clarinet at Arlington Heights High School, and the organist at Faith Lutheran Church for many years. She loved crafts of all kinds, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, puzzling, and playing cards.
Marlene and Don moved to Sun City Arizona after Don retired where they participated in several community bands, craft groups, singing in the choir, and playing the handbells in church before moving to Sugar Land to be close to family.
Marlene wanted the best for her family and gave her boys unconditional love and support to carry with them.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas.
