Unfortunately I just found out about Maryetta’s passing. I worked with her brother at the Parole Division and she was always so sweet to me, from baking cookies for me to attending my wedding. She was an encourager and knew the lord . Rest in heaven Mary you will be missed. 

Mary Etta was such a source of encouragement to me!  I was a young chaplain and she was the psychologist.  She would encourage me to keep going when things weren't good.  She would encourage the students to go to church!  What a blessing she was!  My daughter is now a school psychologist.  I always hoped that my daughter could meet Mary Etta and listen to her stories.  
I'm sure that she is rejoicing in Heaven.

Oh my God, I'm devastated. Such sad news.  Mary Etta and I were neighbors.  We walked to Jack Yates  High School.  Our parents let us catch the bus to go downtown and shop at Foley's. You always checked on me and family.  You will be missed. R.I.P.   

Dearest Mary Etta,
So many memories over the years... the one that stands out most was when you and Lindsey took the day off to be with me when I got my first heart stent in 2001. Then when Lindsey got his stent we were both there for him. Remembering our gang that got together to celebrate our birthdays by going out for lunch - Nurses Stella Johnson, Mai Lactaoen, and myself, along with Administration - Clara Parker and Superintendent David Hetzel.  My daughter Joy went with us many times and enjoyed the fellowship very much. Every time we picked you up, you had all those packages of coffee for me.  Mai is taking care of that now for Stella and I. All that you have been through, you never gave up your faith in Jesus Christ our Lord!  Love, Nurse Voss

Mary Etta was so brave and strong through her many years of living with cerebellar  ataxia. Never complaining and always interested in what was going on in other people’s lives. She was full of Christ’s love, amazing faith and fun. Prayer and Bible study were two pillars in her life. 

She loved to try out new restaurants (especially if she had a coupon) and we went to many. Greek, Italian, vegan.  One of her favorites  was Luigis pizza near U of H. That place was bustling and she would enjoy every bite and every minute together. 

Although she loved to eat Mary Etta always had a nice figure and knew how to dress. For most of her life she had beautiful long wavy hair. 

In a time when people are so distracted you always felt like Mary Etta was completely focused on you and wanted to know what was happening in your life. 

Her friendship was a gift and I will never forget her. 

To the Clark Family,
May the Lord Comfort you and give you Peace at this time. Mary Etta was a long time Family friend. My sister Linda Demby Boisley and Mary Etta were best friends until my sister went to be with the Lord Sept 8, 2020. Now they are together again. 🙏🙏🙏

Mary Etta was my dearest friend for many decades.  I will really miss her, and may her Soul Rest In Peace.
