

Donald and Minerva (Minnie) met at a friend's house in Laredo, TX. Minnie was a Senior in High School and Donald had just been stationed there after completing training in B29 bombers in Wichita Falls, TX. Laredo only had T28 and T33's.
They dated for four years. Minnie finished high school. Donald re-enlisted and was stationed in Etaine, France where he worked on F100 fighter bombers. He was then transferred to Germany where he continued to work on F100's. Six to eight months later he went TDY (temporary duty) to Tripoli, Libya.
While still working in Libya, Donald took a US Embassy C121 flight to Bermuda. There, he spent four days because of an engine failure. He then flew to Charleston, SC, where he boarded a bus to Laredo. After being there for five days, Donald and Minerva were married on October 4, 1959. Three days later, he went back to Libya and then on to Spangdalem, Germany. Minnie stayed in Laredo.
Donald was then transferred to Reese AFB in Lubbock, TX. They were finally able to be together and lived in a small apartment for two years.
They were then transferred to Sembach AFB, Germany and were stationed there for four years. Both Ronnie and Eric were born in Landsthul Army Hospital while in Germany.
The next transfer took them back to Laredo. They then retired from the Air Force in 1973.
Donald and Minnie then moved to Granbury, TX. Donald worked for the Post Office and Minnie worked at the Elementary School. Two years later, they moved to Sugar Land, when Donald accepted an offer from Texas International Airlines to work in Houston.
In 1976, they moved to Saudi Arabi after Donald got an offer from ARAMCO (Arabian American Oil Company) to work on their company airline as a maintenance planner.
In 1983, they transferred back to Houston after Donald was promoted to Chief of Maintenance at ARAMCO for the corporate aviation departmen (DC8's and Gulfstream II's) at Intercontinental Airport.
Three years later, Donald and Minnie transferred back to Saudi Arabia. They retired from ARAMCO in 1990 and moved back to Texas.
Minnie was a devout parishioner at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Sugar Land, TX. No matter where she lived - Minerva never failed to send her weekly church tithes.
Minnie is survived by her husband, Donald, of the home. They have two sons, Ronald and Eric; five grandchildren, Ronald Jameson, Teagan Shay, Elizabeth Ann, Mannon and Amber; and, four great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Logan, Alexis and Caleb.
