She was preceded in death by her husband RK (Bob) Thornton and their precious daughter Teri Lyn Thornton. Minnie is survived by her brother Calvin Kettler and his wife Lorene Kettler of Cypress, TX, as well as Minnie’s sister-in-law Daphne Kettler of Houston, TX. She is also survived by 3 awesome children: Daughter Suzanne Milstead and husband General RE (Bob) Milstead; Lori Thornton Cybulski and husband Michael Cybulski; Favorite (and only) son Robert K. Thornton, Jr. and wife Carolyn Mock Thornton. Minnie is blessed to be also survived by 11 grandchildren plus nine of their spouses, and 18 great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren are blessed to have known and loved their Great Mimi Mitzi.
Minnie’s faith was always important to her, and she enjoyed a five-year course in Bible study fellowship. She formed great friendships in her 12 years in water aerobics and saw great success in her 15 + years in real estate.
Her unconditional love for her family and friends is rooted in her deep faith in Jesus Christ and the heavenly banquet awaiting her. She’s enjoying that banquet now with her husband, daughter, brothers, sisters, and friends who preceded her.
Her favorite Bible verse was 2 Timothy 4: 7 – 8: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
The greatest joy of her life was enjoying her loving, supportive family. Glory be to God!
