With love in our hearts, we celebrate the life of Olivia Saldua Lopez, who was called home on May 6, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born in Sugar Land, Olivia lived a life full of love, kindness, and grace. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and generosity touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in nurturing and supporting those she loved.
Throughout her life, Olivia was known for her feisty heart, unwavering love for her family, incredible cooking, green thumb and hard working. She found joy in gardening, watching telenovelas, spending time with her sisters, children, and grandchildren, and her home was always open, a place of comfort and welcome. She dedicated 24 years working at and retiring from Texas Instruments (T.I.), leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
As she takes her place among the angels, the love and memories Olivia gifted us will forever be our treasure. She is now joyfully reunited in God’s embrace with her parents, Adela and Ruperto Saldua Sr.; her sisters, Velia Rosas and Frances Castillo; her brothers, Ruperto Saldua Jr. and Martin Saldua; and her grandson, Joseph Estrada. Olivia is lovingly remembered and survived by her siblings Phillip Saldua and his wife Virginia, Alice Herrera, Johnny Saldua and his wife Gloria, her daughters Rosie Covarrubias, Connie Morrison and her husband Eric, Carlos Saldua and his wife Bertha, Sarah Salazar, Manuela Salazar, her grandchildren Patricia Dominguez and her husband Pete, Richard Allen and his wife Claudia, Crystal De Los Santos, Carlitos Saldua, Derrick Covarrubias, Amber Knoles, Ashley Knoles, Marissa Kientz and wife Klarissa, Candice Medina, Israel Morrison and his wife Laura, Brandon Knoles, Jared Salazar, Jonathan Saldua, Jacob Estrada, Laela Torres, and Logan Arias. Additionally, Olivia was blessed with 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her love will continue to guide and inspire us every day.
A visitation for Olivia will be held Friday, May 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood Road in Stafford.
A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16 in the chapel at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, where Carlos Saldua and Carlos Saldua Jr. are to officiate.Family and friends are invited to gather and honor her remarkable life.
Though she has gained her wings, her light shines on in every smile, every memory, and every heart she ever touched.
