Pat Caldcleugh

Pat Caldcleugh, wife, mom, aunt and longtime Ft Bend ISD teacher, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2022 in her home in Missouri City, Texas. She was born Patricia Irene Pigman on December 4, 1930 in Dalhart, Texas and is preceded in death by her parents, James William Pigman and Irene Hazelton Pigman, her siblings, James William Pigman, Jr. and Betty Jean Bess, and daughter Coleen Rowden. She is survived by her loving husband Bill Caldcleugh and sons, Keith Rowden (Dallas) Frank Rowden (Yara) and Alex Caldcleugh and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pat was a proud graduate of Dalhart High School and enrolled in the Plan II program at The University of Texas at Austin at age 16. She earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree, was an active member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and was on the staff of The Daily Texan. She later earned her Master of English degree from Midwestern University.Upon graduation she began her career as a teacher in the Dalhart. She took various breaks in her 50 year teaching career to raise her sons and spent the final 25 years of her career teaching in Ft Bend ISD where she was awarded “Teacher of the Year” multiple times. She spent nearly every summer of her life in the small family cabin in the mountains of southern Colorado where she enjoyed the beautiful scenery, cool dry weather and the many fine people she knew there. She also loved to travel by any mode, but especially by car, and always enjoyed different landscapes and cultures. Her family will always cherish her keen mind, her always calm demeanor and her love of the small things in life.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10:30 am at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church, 2011 Austin Pkwy, Sugar Land, Texas 77479. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
