Patricia A Kelley

November 11, 1934January 19, 2013

Patricia A. Kelley of Missouri City, Texas passed away on January 19th, 2013 of natural causes. Patti was born in Chicora, Pennsylvania on the 11th of November 1934 to Robert C. Neyman and Rose Barbara Neyman. She graduated from Butler High School at the age of 16, too young to go into nurses training. So in the interim she became a nanny for family members while attending beauty school and became a licensed beautician. She then attended Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1955. While there, she met her husband to be William E. Kelley who was just out of the Army after serving in the Korean War. They married in 1955 and resided in Forrest Hills, Pennsylvania where they started a catering business called The Coffee Pot. A little over a year later they sold their business and moved to Miami, Florida where Bill attended the University of Miami and Patti worked at the University Hospital on campus.

They eventually moved to Houston, Texas where Patti worked at St. Lukes Hospital as a scrub nurse for some of Houston’s most prominent urology and heart surgeons. They welcomed three children from 1959 to 1966, all native Texans.

Bill and Patti were married for 58 wonderful years and Patti was devoted to her husband and to her children. She cherished her grandchildren and was so proud of all four of them and of their accomplishments and talents. She was also an amazing cook and anyone who knew her would certainly attest to that.

Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. Neyman and Rose Barbara Neyman, and her brothers Charles and Robert Neyman. She is survived by her brothers Carl, Darryell and Scott Neyman, all of Pennsylvania. Her daughter Sandy Bruns and husband George Bruns of Boerne, Texas and two grandchildren Blake Bruns and Jordan Bruns of Austin, Texas. Her son Tom Kelley of Houston, Texas and granddaughter Darby Kelley of Valencia, California. Her daughter Barbara Corporron and husband Rodney Corporron of Schulenburg, Texas and granddaughter Riley Bauman of Bryan, Texas and three step grandchildren Connor, McKenna and Calie Corporron.

The funeral service will be conducted at one o’clock with a viewing to be held from noon to one o’clock.

Patti was a 15-year breast cancer survivor and in lieu of customary remembrances the family kindly suggests contributions be directed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure,, (713) 783-9188.
