Roberto Salas was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and later moved to Houston, Texas to be with his family and made it his new home. Roberto was a kind and gentle soul whose warmth, laughter, and compassion touched everyone around him. His passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fill, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He faced a lot of heartache in his life, losing his oldest brother in 2003, his younger brother in 2022, and his father in 2024. Through it all, he stayed strong for his mom. Their bond was something special — built on love, care, and humor, even through the hardest times.
If you knew him, you knew how funny he was. He could turn any moment — even the tough ones — into something to laugh about. He made friends easily and everywhere he went. He had this gift of making people feel welcome and happy, no matter what they were going through.
Music was a big part of who he was. Back in California, he was in a band where he sang and played the drums. You could always tell music lived in his heart — it was another way he brought joy into the world.
And if there’s one thing he loved as much as making people laugh, it was scratch-offs. He didn’t care if it was his last dollar — he’d still buy one, or even better, spend it on someone else’s kids for candy or chips. That was just who he was — generous, kind, and always thinking of others first.
Roberto will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his big heart, and the joy he brought to everyone lucky enough to know him. His memory will continue to live on in the stories, smiles, and songs he left behind.
He left us with memories full of laughter, love, and music — and that’s how we will always remember him. He may be gone from our sight, but he’ll never be gone from our hearts.
