On the Lord’s day of rest, September 4, 2018, Rocky Dean Cooper of Richmond, Texas, passed away at the age of 57. Rocky was a son, brother, husband, father, brother-in-law, cousin and uncle. He will be forever remembered by his wife of 37 years and their children whom he loved.
Rocky is survived by his wife Pauline Benner Cooper; children: Stephen Anthony Cooper, Ashley Renee Cooper, and Adrian [Aman] Michael Cooper. His siblings have all survived him: Danny Cooper and wife Donita, Rick Cooper and wife Toni, Rosie Potts and husband David, and Nancy Johnson. Rocky has numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and an aunt who are all saddened by his departure.
Rocky was predeceased by his parents; Leonard and Ellen (Sills) Cooper.
Rocky will be remembered for his contributions to Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed serving as Cubmaster and District Day Camp Director for 5 years. He received numerous honors while serving including being a prestigious Wood Badge recipient. He was also a faithful servant in the job that he enjoyed at GC Services for over 25 years, where he received numerous recognitions. He loved doing yard work and loved watching comedy on TV. He was known for spreading cheer wherever he went. Many of his friends and family will remember his comical way of “bluffing” with a poker face, leaving others wondering if he was telling the truth or not. His wife and family will always remember how he loved a meal of pork chops and fried potatoes. As a young adult, Rocky enjoyed sailing the Gulf Coast waters and won 2nd place in a sailboat race from Galveston to Tuxpan, Mexico. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was land or sea.
Rocky is now “breathing easy” in a place where there are no breathing machines, oxygen tubes, and medication. May he rest in peace.

Visitation 5:00-6:45 pm on Sunday, September 9 in the CCE Building, light refreshments will be provided
Vigil 7:00-8:00 pm in the church immediately following visitation with Deacon Billy Guerra presiding
Mass of Christian Funeral 7:00-8:00 pm on Monday, September 10 in the church with
Rev. Joseph Ho presiding
(A private interment will be held at a later date.)
Memorial donations in memory of Rocky may be made to Boy Scouts of America.
